Comparison

Beseen vs Profound

Profound is the closest thing this page has to a real rival: it measures AI visibility and, as of 2026, writes and publishes content too. It is also built for a much bigger budget. Here is where each one actually wins, with both sets of prices.

The short version

Buy Profound if AI-visibility tracking needs to sit next to enterprise marketing infrastructure: sentiment scoring, share-of-visibility dashboards, SSO, and a content-agent layer that can publish straight into your CMS. It closed a $96 million Series C in February 2026 at a $1 billion valuation, has raised more than $155 million in total, and reports serving more than 10% of the Fortune 500. Beseen has none of that scale, and does not pretend to.

Beseen does something narrower, at a much lower entry price. It asks ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity the questions your buyers ask, records who gets named, then writes the page or the rewrite that closes the gap and asks again a week later. Profound covers more ground, up to nine engines on its Enterprise tier, and now ships writing Agents of its own. But its cheapest self-serve plan, Starter, is $99 a month for 50 prompts on ChatGPT alone. Getting three engines means $399 a month, on Growth.

These two now overlap on both halves, measuring and writing. What does not overlap is the price of getting in the door: Beseen Standard, at $39 a month, already covers three engines and costs less than a third of Profound’s cheapest plan.

What Profound does better

Worth being specific about this rather than waving at it, because some of the gap is real and will not close.

  • Engine coverage. Profound tracks up to 9 answer engines on its Enterprise tier, plus Google AI Overviews on Growth and above. Beseen tracks three: ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, on every paid tier it has.
  • Enterprise analytics. Sentiment scoring, share-of-visibility, multi-brand and competitor tracking, SSO/SAML and SOC2 compliance. These are dashboards built for a marketing team reporting to a CMO, not a founder checking a weekly email.
  • A genuine writing-and-publishing layer. Profound's Agents draft full articles and briefs from configurable templates, Content Refresh, AEO FAQ Generation, Competitive Research, Net-New Content, and can publish straight into WordPress, Sanity or Contentful. Beseen only ever hands you a prompt to paste into your own coding agent.
  • Company scale. A $96 million Series C in February 2026 at a $1 billion valuation, more than $155 million raised in total, and a reported customer base that includes more than 10% of the Fortune 500. This is a company built and funded for that tier of customer.
  • Multiple companies tracked under one account at the Enterprise tier, which is what an agency managing several client brands actually needs.

Where Beseen is different

The door is $39, not $99

Profound’s cheapest self-serve plan, Starter, is $99 a month, billed yearly, for 50 prompts on ChatGPT only. Three engines means moving up to Growth at $399 a month. Beseen’s free account tracks 10 prompts on one engine every week at no cost, and $39 a month covers 25 prompts across ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity from the first day. $79 tracks 100.

The rewrite is scoped to what you actually lost

Profound’s Agents are a separate module you configure yourself: pick a template, set a brand kit and audience, and spend credits running it. Nothing in that setup is wired automatically to a specific prompt your brand just lost that week. Beseen’s output is that one prompt: which of your existing pages could plausibly win it, what its title, first paragraph and section structure should say instead, and, where no suitable page exists at all, a brief for the one to write.

Nothing gets published for you

Profound’s Agents can push a draft straight into WordPress, Sanity or Contentful. Beseen does not, on purpose. There is no CMS integration and Beseen never holds write access to your site. Output is copy you paste and a prompt you hand to your own coding agent, then the same prompts run again the following week so you can see what moved. How it works covers that loop step by step.

What Beseen leaves out

Some of the distance between these two is a choice and some of it is plain absence. Both are worth knowing before you move anything.

  • No engine coverage past three. No Gemini, no Copilot, no separate Google AI Overviews tracking, and no path up to Profound's 9-engine Enterprise ceiling.
  • No enterprise dashboards. No sentiment scoring, no share-of-visibility metric, no SSO/SAML, no SOC2 compliance.
  • No content-agent framework. No templates, no brand-kit configuration, no CMS publishing. Output is copy and a prompt you hand to your own agent, which is a real convenience gap against a tool that pushes straight into WordPress.
  • No multi-company or competitor-fleet tracking. One account tracks the sites you add to it, up to 10 on Pro, not a portfolio of client brands under one roof.

Which one to buy

Profound, if

  • You need enterprise-grade dashboards: sentiment, share-of-visibility, and competitor tracking across multiple brands.
  • You need engine coverage beyond ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, up to 9 engines on Enterprise.
  • You want a content-agent framework that drafts and publishes directly into your CMS.
  • $99 a month is a reasonable floor for the budget you have, and Enterprise pricing is on the table if you need it.

Beseen, if

  • You want to see the answer before paying anything. The free scan needs no account, and the free tier tracks 10 prompts a week after that, permanently.
  • $99 a month for 50 prompts on one engine is out of proportion to the size of the problem you have today.
  • Three engines, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, covers the ground your buyers actually use.
  • You want the rewrite scoped to the exact prompt you lost, not a separately configured agent you have to set up yourself.

Some teams should run both: Profound for the enterprise reporting layer, Beseen for a cheap, fast read on a smaller brand or a secondary site that does not justify a $99-a-month line item.

What could change this

The case above has a shelf life, so here is what would shorten it.

  • Profound just raised $96 million and has the budget to build a real free tier for the bottom of the funnel. It has not shipped one yet, but a company moving this fast could.
  • Profound's Agents already do more than Beseen's rewrite prompt, templates, brand-kit configuration, direct CMS publishing. If Beseen ever adds a publishing step, most of that gap closes at once.
  • Citations move over weeks, not days. Whichever tool you buy, the first check after a change often looks identical to the one before it. Anyone promising faster than that is selling you something.
